LG Optimus G : 1.5GHz quad-core CPU, ICS, LTE, 4.7-inch screen with in-cell touch

LG has been teasing its upcoming Optimus G smartphone for weeks after promising LTE phones that would be “second to none” and now we finally have the full specs. When it arrives in Korea next month it will be the first with LTE mounted to a quad-core CPU, thanks to the 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 at its center. The display is also groundbreaking, featuring LG’s fully integrated touch technology — sounds like its new in-cell touch to us –for a thinner screen and bezel. It’s a True HD (1280 x 768) IPS LCD, and LG claims when it’s turned off the 3mm [...]

Leaked Images LG Optimus 3D 2

What you see before you is either the deranged rantings of a lunatic, or the second generation of LG’s Optimus 3D, erm, 3D smartphone. Currently codenamed “CX2,” the handset’s packing a new NOVA autostereoscopic display for better brightness, an unnamed 1.2GHz dual-core TI CPU and an NFC module. What isn’t changing is the dual five-megapixel cameras, the 8GB storage or the display’s size or resolution. Our biggest gripe with the device was its heft, but if the rumors are true, it’s slimmed down from 12mm to 10mm: making it significantly more pocket-friendly. [...]

The purported Android 4.0 device would also boast an 8-megapixel camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing snapper and measure up at a super slim sub-9mm. For those worried about the damage all that power and massive screen size could do to your chances of lasting through the day, LG is also said to be included a whopping [...]

Review: LG Prada 3.0

The new LG Prada 3.0 (or PRADA phone by LG 3.0, if the fashion house has anything to do with it) is a ‘fashion phone’ that actually ticks more than a few tech boxes as well. When most people hear about designer tie-ins with technology, they think of lame devices with a logo smeared all over it – but in this case, it’s actually a decent phone in its own right. The Prada 3 has a large amount of synergy with the LG Optimus 3D, bringing the same OMAP 1GHz dual-core, dual-channel processor but ramping it up with 1GB of RAM, rather than the measly 512MB on offer previously. We’re [...]

LG Optimus LTE official: High-speed data alongside a HD IPS display

It may not be the biggest phone reveal coming in the next 24 hours, but leaked details had already piqued our interest in LG’s next big thing. The Optimus LTE’s screen rivals Apple’s Retina Display at 326ppi and that high-definition sharpness is slathered on a 4.5-inch AH-IPS display. The sizable 1830mAh battery should be enough to keep the phone ticking over despite these high-end specs, which include a confirmed 1.5GHz dual-core CPU and eight megapixel camera. Will we get to see it on these shores? We’re not sure of its travel itinerary after it reaches Korea, but we’d [...]

LG’s Nano LED backlit LW9800 HDTV

While LG’s 2011 HDTV lineup has been largely a success so far — we found a lot to like in the LW5600 we reviewed and quarterly earnings seem to justify its 3D and LED technology — some wouldn’t be satisfied without an LED backlit (rather than edge lit) option. That issue is solved now with the new LW9800 series, shown off here in Korea as the LW980S. Announced in two sizes, 55- and 47-inches, both feature “Nano LED” local dimming with as many as 2,300 sources in the larger one and 480Hz motion technology. They also include other LG standard features like Cinema [...]
