It’s not just iOS device users getting a software update today. Apple has also now made iTunes 10.6 available for download, which includes support for 1080p movies and TV shows to match those available on the new Apple TV. The update also brings with it a number of improvements to iTunes Match, including better song matching, and improvements to the way album artwork is downloaded and displayed. You can find it at the link below or download it via Apple’s Software Update tool.
It’s business as usual on the Tosh telly front, with nothing but meek budget offerings. The Toshiba 42RL853B is one of the latest journeyman shelf-fillers.
At 40mm thin, it’s in line with higher-end designs from rival screen makers. But its plastic back panel creaks in a distinctly budget fashion and build is average.
The screen offers four HDMI inputs (one side-mounted), plus component, stereo phonos, PC input and a digital audio output. There’s also a single USB input and Ethernet LAN. There’s no integrated Wi-Fi (unsurprisingly), but you can always buy a dongle if you [...]
As a big fan of photo-sharing site Flickr, one of the most frustrating things about the popularity of photo sharing on social-networking site Facebook has always been the relatively terrible quality of Facebook’s highly compressed photos. Starting today, that’s changing.
Over the next few weeks, Facebook will be rolling out support for high-res pictures for free to every user:
We’re increasing the size of the photos stored from 720 pixels to 2048 pixels on the largest edge, for an 8 times increase overall. I’m really excited to be launching this feature. To see the [...]

Fixes a problem that affects the performance of some third-party visualizers
Addresses an issue where the iTunes library and playlists appear empty
Resolves an issue that created an incompatibility with some third-party shared libraries

But let’s not exclude Lady Antebellum and Taylor Swift, whose success from 2008 album releases have carried them over into the new decade. Here are AOL Radio’s Top Pop Songs of 2010 so far — pulled from our listener ratings on our Fresh 40 station. Be sure to check back frequently, as we will be updating [...]
Damon Albarn’s cartoon band Gorillaz are promoting their new single by offering a free videogame for fans to download.
Gorillaz are set to release a new digital bundle of their song ‘Superfast Jellyfish’ which includes a computer game today (March 29).
The digital bundle for the song, taken from recent album Plastic Beach, includes the so-called game, Escape To Plastic Beach.
Album good, game bad
We have given the game a quick go and, while the characterisation and artwork and dialogue are to be commended, the gameplay value is an unfortunate zero out of ten.
However, lets [...]
