We just got some very, very sad news. Steve Jobs has passed away. As confirmed on Apple’s site, Mr. Jobs has died at the age of 56 after recently stepping down from the position of CEO and naming Tim Cook his successor. Steve has had a profound effect on the world of technology, both at Apple and through his many other endeavors. Our thoughts go out to his family.

While all of the current wave of Apple pre-launch hype is focused on next week’s iPad launch, it is rumoured that Steve Jobs’ “next big thing” is going to be a personalised mobile advertising platform, possibly called ‘iAd’.
Online Media Daily reports that Apple’s new mobile ad platform will be officially unveiled to the ad execs on New York’s Madison Avenue on April 7 and has been described as “revolutionary” and “our next big thing” by Steve Jobs.

Google has announced that it has released Google Voice for the iPhone as a web app that can be accessed through the phone’s web browser.
This appears to be Google’s way of getting the application on the iPhone without the approval of Apple.
Jobs’ Lot has delayed the approval of Google Voice as a native app for the handset since July, when Google claimed Apple had rejected the app. Apple insisted that it was under review and has since not made a decision with Google claiming not to have received any updates.
