The iPhone Dev Team has released a major updated version of their jailbreak tool, Redsn0w 0.9.11b1 for Windows and Mac OS X with a new feature that allows users to downgrade iOS firmware on A5-devices.
According to official blog:
“Starting with redsn0w version 0.9.11b1, those with newer devices (iPad2, iPad3, and iPhone4S) can join the downgrade fun too! In a radical departure from previous versions of redsn0w, it now directly supports restoring IPSWs to your device. The first use of this new feature implements a hack that allows A5 downgrades without a bootrom-level exploit.
Few days back a major update of ih8sn0w jailbreak tool Sn0wBreeze v2.9 was out there with the support for old iOS firmware versions and now Sn0wBreeze v2.9.1 is released with some bug fixes. According to ih8sn0w tweet:

The one Android update to rule them all — better known as Ice Cream Sandwich — is penciled in for an official launch sometime in the next two months, so it’s only natural for some shots to leak out. We just weren’t expecting a two-minute video showing off a few of the new features. As the story goes, a lucky gent ordered a Samsung Nexus S on eBay and, upon its arrival, noticed that his new prized possession looked a little… different. Hopping over to the About screen, he was shocked to discover that the device was running ICS. The firmware appears to be operating [...]
iOS 5 Beta 7 for iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad 2, 1 and iPod touches was seeded to registered Apple developers yesterday. This new build contains several stability and security improvements to make iOS 5 close to release quality.
While Redsn0w 0.9.8b7 for both Windows and Mac can already jailbreak iOS 5 Beta 7, but for those of you who rely on a carrier unlock, iPhone developer and hacker iH8sn0w has just released Sn0wbreeze 2.8b7 for Windows which can not only jailbreak this latest version of iOS 5, but can also preserve the old baseband (hacktivation is also supported) on iPhone 4 and 3GS so that they [...]
All things digital report says that Apple plans to launch iPhone 5 in the beginning or by the end of October 2011, whereas no hard date of iPhone 5 launch has been revealed yet.
The previous iPhone 5 rumors has indicated that device will be integrated with A5 processor, a Qualcomm dual mode GSM/CDMA baseband, and 8 megapixel rear camera.
TinyUmbrella ver.5.00.07 has been released which includes support to save SHSH blobs for iOS 4.3.5 and also allows users to make a choice either to update iPhone 4′s baseband or not.
According to Notcom official blog:
“I’ll probably regret this but this newest version of TU (5.00.07) will allow you to choose whether or not to update your iPhone 4′s baseband. This new feature comes with a catch:
First, the version you WANT to restore to and the version Apple is currently signing must BOTH have the same baseband. This is important or else the baseband update will not work and you will get [...]
Apple has just pushed out iOS 4.3.4 for the iPhone, iPad and the iPod touch. And thankfully, we have cooked custom PwnageTool bundles which allows you to jailbreak any device (except for iPad 2) running iOS 4.3.4, and at the same time preserve your baseband for an Ultrasn0w unlock later on.
We have tested and can 100% confirm that they are working. Keep in mind that the jailbreak is tethered for now, in other words, if your device loses power or restarts then you would have to boot it into the jailbroken state again. No matter how annoying it may sound, but its better than having no jailbreak [...]
