iPhone 4 Release Date : 24 June for UK and USA

Steve Jobs has announced the ‘fastest roll out ever’ for a new iPhone with the release of the iPhone 4. The new iPhone 4 release date UK wise has been set for the 24 June, with pricing (in the US at least) set at $299 for the 32GB version, 16GB $199 and 8GB $99 all on contract – which is likely to be somewhat mirrored in the UK. Five countries will be getting the iPhone first in the world, with the UK joined by the US, Japan, France and Germany. HTC Desire offered early on Vodafone and Orange

The HTC Desire is now available from more networks than just T-Mobile, with the Carphone Warehouse expanding the line-up. Vodafone and Orange are both likely to launch the Desire via their shops in the near future, but TCW will be stocking it from today. The phone will be available from £30 per month with a free phone (for a two year deal) and you can also pick it up for £399 on pay as you go. Carphone Warehouse and Talk Talk separate

Carphone Warehouse and Talk Talk will officially ‘demerge’ today, with the ISP and retail chain splitting and being run as independent companies. Ambitious plans for both companies – Talk Talk acquired Tiscali last year, while Carphone Warehouse has a 50 per cent stake in the European arm of Best Buy – already make this an interesting time for the two companies, but the split is also about risk. Carphone Warehouse hints at iPad UK release date

Apple has announced it is striking data deals to offer 3G connectivity with its forthcoming iPad, and we’ve spoken to UK networks about whether a similar plan will be in place. Orange, O2 and Vodafone have issued us all with a resounding ‘No comment’, which means it’s unlikely that we’ll be seeing the iPad on our shores for a while.
