Yahoo Messenger has just received a new IMVironment which comes with a brand new pack of emoticons and can be used by anyone. This pack has been named as Emoticats, and this IMVironment is actually a Yahoo Messenger animation that lets you choose from several cat portraits and send them to the people you are chatting with. If you really like cats, you can even make one of the cats pictures displayed by the IMVironment as your avatar. That’s easy, just click the “Adopt” included in the chat window, and your avatar will be changed with the cat one.

Jailbreakme 2.0 was the easiest jailbreak solution available, but it didn’t last too long. Apple fixed the PDF vulnerability in iOS by releasing iOS 4.0.2 and 3.2.2 for iPhone and iPad respectively. We had warned users not to upgrade if they want to keep their jailbreak. Luckily, redsn0w still works wonders for iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G ( non-MC models ) if you use iOS 4.0 firmware to jailbreak iOS 4.0.2 on the device, but for all other iDevices, they’re out of luck if they were upgraded to 4.0.2/3.2.2
The Dev Team has given an update for all those users who updated to the latest iOS [...]
The iPad is so easy to use, a cat can play with it. So can a dog! But what about a centenarian? Virginia of Oregon bought her first computer—an iPad—and as the video shows, she’s a whizz.
According to her daughter Ginny, the iPad has “changed her life,” as the glucoma-suffering woman has found reading and writing much easier on the iPad. In fact, she’s read two ebooks, and written 12 limericks—one of which appears in the video below, where she calls herself a “technical-ninny.”
Warms your cold, cold heart right through, doesn’t it? [CNET]
Aww. Now developers will undoubtedly start to work on iPad apps especially for cats. Some cat owners could be disappointed at the result, though, because their pets might not be quite as intelligent or curious as this little critter.
Notice how the iPad’s oleophobic screen holds up to the claws of this cuddly beast. The cat’s master apparently wants to avoid a catastrophe, ending the session as soon as the cat starts pawing the thing’s scratchable stainless steel bezel. Cuteness has its limits.

Cats are lovely animals to keep as pets, but there’s one big downside: litterboxes. Unsurprisingly, letting a cat do its business in a box inside your home makes your home smell like a cat’s business. It ain’t pleasant.
The Bionaire litter box aims to solve this problem by filtering out that awful pee stink before it leaves the litter box via a built-in air purifier. It’s quiet, so it won’t scare your cat off into peeing in your houseplants, and it’s got a 12 foot power cord so you can place it wherever is most convenient for you. On the downside, its a steep [...]
There’s always a temptation to try to predict the course of future events, and the world of computing is no exception. With everything seemingly becoming bigger, better and faster year on year, there’s an insatiable appetite for predictions, and some individuals seem dutybound to meet that demand.
Today these people like to call themselves futurologists, and while this might give the practice an air of scientific respectability, in many cases it has to be said with hindsight that using a crystal ball would have been just as accurate.

If you’ve watched a master excavator operator at work, you’ll immediately recognize the realism of this remarkable $4,500 radio-controlled toy. The 1:14.5 scale EC280 MG is powered by four rechargeable NiMH batteries, driving six motorized proportional axles, all operated by an eight-channel proportional radio controller. The result of all that gadgetry? Enough power to dig up your mom’s rose garden in a few easy scoops.
It’s remarkable someone would go to the trouble of creating such a detailed replica of the heavy iron that digs the big holes in the world these days. [...]
