In order to raise awareness of the dangers of smoking (or to make cigarettes look even cooler — we’re not sure which) a group of five students at Xi’an University in China have built an all-electric Bugatti Veyron entirely out of old cigarette boxes. This bad boy is the same size as the world-renowned touring car — a feat which took 10,280 packs of cigarettes and eight months to assemble. While we have no idea what the top speed is, we’re guessing it’s nowhere near that of the original. Check out the video after the break.
Folks over at MacRumors have been tipped with images of what appears to be the the 4th Generation iPhone HD. Interestingly! the images reveal that there is no LED Flash on the back which puts us in a little doubt since our sources believe that it is bound to make an appearance on the new iPhone.
There has been quite some amount of speculation as to whether Apple might have plans to bring the aluminum unibody enclosure, as seen on the Macbook and iPad, to the iPhone but there has been no official confirmation on the matter.
MacRumors adds more details as follows:

Yesterday, I shared how you can get yourself a free activation code for Kaspersky Internet Security 2010. Today I have another promotion to share, and this time it’s of Kaspersky Antivirus 2010.
The KIS 2010 promotion I shared had lots of stuff to do before you actually got your free activation code and required a bunch of instructions and screenshots. But this one doesn’t.
MSN China, in collaboration with Kaspersky, is offering a free Kaspersky Antivirus 2010 activation code to users. Just follow the three simple steps below to get your free Kaspersky activation key.
1. Visit the KAV [...]
As if making things invisible wasn’t cool enough, a team of engineering students at China’s Southeast University in Nanjing have come up with a cloaking design that hides something and creates an illusion in its place. They classify it as “illusion media,” and it’s able to make whatever the material is covering appear to be something else — or several other things — by scattering electric fields. A person, for instance, could be replaced with a shrub or even several bushes.
“The illusion media make an enclosed object appear like another object or [...]
Following Google’s announcement that it is moving its search services out of China due to censorship worries, Yahoo emails belonging to journalists in China and Taiwan have been hacked.
Some journalists in China and Taiwan were unable to access their accounts last week beginning on March 25.
US journalists affected
Kathleen McLaughlin, a freelance journalist in Beijing and Andrew Jacobs of the New York Times were both affected by the hack.
A number of human rights activists and journalists in China had similarly discovered their Gmail accounts had unknowingly been forwarded to unfamiliar [...]
Are you excited about tablet computers but are not so interested in the iPad’s iPhone-like operating system? A shady company in China has just the solution you’re looking for!
This iPad knockoff might look relatively legit, but it’s actually running a hacked version of Google’s Android phone OS modified to look like the iPad OS. On the inside you’ve got a 600MHz ARM CPU instead of Apple’s 1GHz A4 processor. Otherwise, who knows what’s inside? But hey, it’s a mere $150, much less expensive than the real deal, so maybe it’s a better option! Then [...]
Eco-campaigners at Greenpeace have criticised the idea of an internet ‘cloud’ – with data centres built by the likes of Facebook, Apple, Google and others still largely powered by coal.
Greenpeace releases a new report this week that notes how a Facebook facility being built in Oregon will rely on a coal-fuelled power station, while Apple is building a new data warehouse in a North Carolina region that also relies mostly on coal.
“The last thing we need is for more cloud infrastructure to be built in places where it increases demand for dirty coal-fired power,” said [...]
Maybe the Segway will finally get a chance to change the future of transportation. General Motors and Segway have teamed up again to produce a series of decidedly uncool-looking Electric Networked Vehicles, EN-V, all based on the Segway’s balanced platform with a carbon-fiber shell.
The EN-V pods could run for about 25 miles on a charge and reach top speeds of 25 mph. Since they’re purely conceptual at this point, take this feature list with a pile of salt: They’ll be able to communicate with vehicles around them and react to prevent accidents and avoid traffic. With GPS and [...]
No bones about it, $65 is ridiculously cheap for a laptop. I mean, $400 already feels cheap, and that’s what most netbooks go for these days. $65, though?
The company responsible for it is China’s Creation Tech, and the power the “CTEB7G” is packing under the hood definitely matches the price. It has a 7-inch, 800 by 600 pixel display, an unimpressive 33MHz 533MHz processor, a scant 128MB of RAM and a tiny 2GB worth of flash memory for storage. It does have Wi-Fi, surprisingly, as well as three USB ports and it runs Windows CE.
The bad news (we guess?) is that you won’t [...]
