US says Chinese web is like the Berlin Wall

US Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton warned Beijing that its alleged attack on Google would have “consequences” and compared China’s current censorship of the internet to the days of eastern European communism and the Berlin Wall. China: internet accusations are groundless

China has launched a stinging attack on the US, after Hilary Clinton criticised the country for its apparent censoring of the internet. Clinton, who is the US Secretary of State, spoke yesterday about China’s web habits and called for restrictions it has put on the internet in the country to be lifted. Respect the facts China has responded with its Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Ma Zhaoxu, calling Clinton’s remarks as “information imperialism” and announced that the US should “respect the facts” and cease the “groundless accusations against China”. Bird Population Falls Over Past 40 Years

A recent study by the National Audubon Society has found that bird populations — even those of common, robust species such as grackles — have fallen drastically over the past 40 years. The populations of whiporwills and bobwhites have fallen by well over 80 percent, a drop so great that these once-common birds are now seldom seen or heard in the eastern US. Deforestation is partly to blame, as well as global warming, which appears to be affecting arctic birds especially hard.
