Overview, design and feel
It’s been a busy old year for Sony Ericsson. As it struggles to regain a foothold in the market it was once sucha major player in, it’s been firing out more Android-based Xperia smartphones than long-lost relatives on an episode of Jeremy Kyle. And they’re not half bad either.
The Xperia Arc has been the flagship of 2011′s bunch. Arriving in the spring, it became the skinny poster girl for the Swedish-Japanese hybrid, showing off its amazing screen presence with the help of the Sony Reality Display (the bit that reproduces colour on the screen [...]
Overview and design
It’s taken a ridiculously long time to come, but this is it. This is the one. After the clickable screen of the BlackBerry Storm 2 and the touchscreen-with-slide-out-keyboard shenanigans of the original BlackBerry Torch, RIM has finally released a proper touchscreen smartphone.
No ands or buts – the BlackBerry Torch 9860 is a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen, and that’s it. Granted, the iPhone managed a similar-ish feat in 2007, but RIM’s insistence in holding on to the designs that made it big in the first place have held it back from this moment.

Rumors of a future iPhone are definitely intensifying. Just over the last few months, a lot of information, including design aspects, have leaked out. That could only mean one thing: the next iPhone is months away from being unveiled. A leaked image by the Taiwanese website Apple.pro, allegedly depicting the back plate of a future iPhone, will only add to the excitement.
There have been two kinds of iPhone rumors, ones pointing to a major redesign, also known as the “iPhone 5″; while, more recently, others have pointed to a smaller upgrade, possibly being named “iPhone [...]

First things first, if you flashed a previous version of Clockwork Recovery using Odin, FLASH BACK TO A STOCK KERNEL. (There’s another link in the forum to do this, I can’t find it at the moment)
This recovery is *very* safe to use. It does NOT flash your kernel; it is a completely uninvasive recovery method.
How it works: The recovery is packaged as an update.zip that you run from STOCK recovery. The update.zip unpacks Clockwork Recovery onto the ramdisk and restarts recovery. When you reboot, it reverts back to the original, unmodified, stock recovery. So, you will need to keep [...]

IFA 2010 threw up a few new exciting bits of kit, such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab, but it’s at the mid-range of the market that some interesting gadgets were to be found.
Samsung told TechRadar that it was planning a budget Android QWERTY-slider in 2010, and while it wouldn’t give the name, as coincidence would have it the Samsung Galaxy i5510 appeared on Vodafone Germany’s stand.
Samsung told us that the new Galaxy handset would be similar in spec to the Galaxy Apollo, a mid-range phone that debuted earlier this year, and the Galaxy i5510 certainly fits that bill.
It’s [...]
