In June 2011, George Hotz (GeoHot) was hired by Facebook after getting sued by Sony for hacking into Playstation 3. Basically, GeoHot was popular for its unlock and jailbreaking tools for iPhone users, and now when he is quitting from Facebook, it seems he will join back jailbreak community and hope so some other jailbreak tools would be on his credit in near future. According to NBC report Apple has asked to Federal Government to crack down against hackers who are involved in jailbreak activities. Apple took this step after Sony as they have filed a lawsuit against Geohot for jailbreaking PS 3 recently. Geohot has released Limera1n jailbreak for Mac OS X as the Limera1n untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.1 for Windows was released last week. This has to be the saddest day in the history of the iPhone. Geohot, the father of the First iPhone Unlock and the first person to ever use the iPhone on a network other than AT&T has announced that he would no longer develop any hacks to jailbreak or unlock on the latest iOS 4.
