Graphics card companies don’t live and die by the enthusiast market alone. That may be where the glory is, but it’s the budget cards that really bring in the bacon. New pics have surfaced of Microsoft’s dual-screen Courier, and the book-like device seems to be dolled up a bit to compete directly against the iPad. SGN, one of the top game publishers on the iPhone, has given its chief executive title to No. 2 executive Randy Breen. Founder Shervin Pishevar remains at the company as executive chairman at the company. Breen is a former Electronic Arts and LucasArts game veteran who joined the company in the middle of last year as chief operating officer. SGN has made its name doing unique games for the iPhone that take advantage of its touchscreen and tilt controls. Apparently the largest ever hand-dug excavation in the world, this 1097 metre deep mine yielded over 3 tonnes of diamonds before being closed in 1914. the amount of earth removed by workers is estimated to total 22.5 million tonnes.
