India’s $35 tablet ready to ship

India’s unfortunately-named Sakshat tablet began life as a $10 laptop way back in early 2009 and, in the years since, has had more than its fair share of delays and difficulties. But, after repeatedly dashing hopes and destroying dreams it appears the $35 tablet is just about ready for take off. The Times of India is reporting the first batch of this still slightly mysterious machine will be shipped out at the end of the month to the Indian Institute of Technology for 2,200 rupees apiece — a bit above the goal price at around $50, though government plans to subsidize the devices [...]

Uncontacted Tribe in Brazilian Jungle (Video)

Video of an uncontacted tribe spotted in the Brazilian jungle has been released, bringing them to life in ways that photographs alone cannot. The tribe, believed to be Panoa Indians, have been monitored from a distance by Brazil’s National Indian Foundation, a government agency charged with handling the nation’s indigenous communities. Many of the world’s 100 or so uncontacted tribes live in the Amazon. Until 1987, it was government policy to contact such people. But contact is fraught with problems, especially disease; people who have stayed isolated from the mainstream world have [...]

India Built World’s Largest Magnet

If your microwave suddenly whizzes out your house and down the road, you’ll know India’s successfully built the world’s largest magnet. The 50,000 tons of magnetised iron will be housed underground, making CERN’s 37,500-ton magnet shrink in shame. Why does India need such a large magnet? Desperate enemy: Sonia Gandhi

Without a doubt the Indian intelligentsia have stooped very low this time–not that we ever doubted that the slum-dogs couldn’t stoop any lower–maligning the reputation of two innocent girls who were raped and murdered when they are not alive to defend themselves certainly exposes the desperation of the Indian Intelligence Bureau. As though their operatives here have no sisters and mothers of their own.  Accusing the poor victims of immorality when they are not alive to defend their reputation is such a repugnant accusation, it only serves to display the delinquency of the Indians [...]
