In case you haven’t been keeping an eye on the countdown, we thought we’d remind you that Ubuntu 11.10 — otherwise known as Oneiric Ocelot — is now available to download (completely free of charge, of course). That brings with it an updated version of the Unity interface that includes features like a new alt + tab switcher and “Lenses” with some expanded functionality instead of the previous “Places” feature — not to mention full support for Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and other script languages. Did we mention it also now has its own soundtrack? [...]
Life is all about choices and trade-offs. With the Acer Iconia Tab A100, the main compromise is in size. This 417g tablet, the first to run the Android 3.2 operating system, is too big to be a smartphone and too small – at a 7-inch screen size – to watch movies on. It fills a small niche for those who want an ebook reader that also runs apps.

Yet, after using the browser for a few minutes, you might immediately notice speed improvements of about 20% according [...]

Until, that is, one of your archives becomes corrupted, or a download is incomplete. You may then find your archiving tool refuses to work with the file at all, in which case you’ll need some third-party help if your data is to be recovered.
In theory this shouldn’t be a problem. A quick Google search for something like “fix zip file” brings up a host of promising tools, some of which are free, and all promising that they’re the [...]
