Lenovo IdeaPad U300 S
In a couple of days that saw the announcement of a raft of Intel Ultrabooks here at IFA 2011, the Lenovo U300 S looks to set the bar high, with incredible power and a great design to boot.
The slim 13.3-inch body measures just 14.9mm at its thickest point, making it one of the thinnest ultrabooks we’ve seen. Only yesterday, Toshiba announced its Portege Z830 which measured just 15.9mm, and the pace at which manufacturers are releasing, means it’s likely we’ll see thinner again.

New MacBook Air with Sandy Bridge, Thunderbolt, and backlit keyboard
They say Apple updates its products like clockwork, releasing something new at the same time in the same place every year. Not so with MacBook Airs anyway. The outfit’s gone and freshened up its 13-inch and 11-inch ultraportables — the second such update in nine months. Although the industrial design hasn’t changed much since the last generation, both models step up to Sandy Bridge Core i5 and i7 processors, Thunderbolt ports, backlit keyboards, and, of course, OS X Lion.

You Can’t Upgrade the Hard Drive in the New iMacs
The new iMacs have the super fast Thunderbolt port and Intel’s latest Sandy Bridge Core processors which makes them, well, pretty awesome. What’s not awesome? Apple has made upgrading the hard drive on the new iMacs damn near impossible.
Other World Computing is reporting that “the Apple-branded main hard drive cannot be moved, removed or replaced.” They say it’s because Apple has altered the SATA power connector from a standard 4-pin configuration to a 7-pin configuration.
