Looks like old Fujitsu isn’t the only PC-maker looking to get into the Windows 8 tablet business before year’s end. Addressing a conference in Northern California, HP CEO Meg Whitman let it be known that her company plans on pushing out an Intel-packing tablet running the new Microsoft operating system in 2012. How about a dual-boot webOS system, Meg? We can dream, can’t we?

Today is the day fine folks — Kinect for Windows is here. The official, and commercial, version 1.0 of the SDK just hit the interwebs along with the accompanying hardware for a price of $250, or $150 for qualified educational customers. The tool has picked up a number of new features since the last beta, including support for up to four Kinects being used simultaneously and near mode for monitoring motion from just 40cm away. Microsoft interoperability team has released Amazon Web Services (AWS) SDK for Windows Phone which is in beta and its a part of Microsoft‘s open source project. This SDK will help developers to quickly integrate Windows Phone apps with AWS (S3, SimpleDB, and SQS Cloud Services).
