Samsung’s premium LED TVs are so advanced that they’re one malfunction away from taking over the human race. From Smart Hub web content and wireless media streaming to 3D, USB support and HD tuners, the Korean company’s high-end sets are packed with flashy features and smart technology that make them more akin to computers than TVs.
But not everyone wants this sort of sophistication. Many people simply want a TV that allows them to watch programmes and play Blu-ray discs without having to do a degree in quantum physics first. That’s where the UE32D5000 comes in. This modestly [...]

Bad news has struck both Research In Motion (RIM) and all BlackBerry users present in Saudi Arabia as the authorities there announced today that they would be blocking some of the BlackBerry services from this Friday. This decisions comes at the time when RIM is already having a hard time in the Middle East with several countries having an objection on the services provided by RIM.
The issue at hand is the handling of encrypted data from BalckBerry devices from its own server, unlike other vendors like Apple. This created a dispute between RIM and local governments on the monitoring of [...]

Philips’ high-end TVs are some of the most feature-packed on the market, boasting more high-powered processing than NASA mission control. But if the recession has forced you to set your sights a little lower, it doesn’t necessarily mean you have to miss out on those enticing features completely.
That’s because the processing modes inside Philips’ mid-range sets do the same basic job as the versions on Philips’ high-end sets, but with less grunt behind them.
So instead of Perfect Pixel HD Engine on the 9000 series you get Pixel Precise HD; 100Hz LCD replaces 200Hz [...]
PlayStation exec Jack Tretton has insisted that the recent trend towards motion sensors will not kill the traditional gaming controllers.
The SCEA-man insisted that the arrival of Sony’s PlayStation Move, as well as the popularity of the Nintendo Wii and the forthcoming Project Natal from Microsoft, were not a threat to more traditional gaming.
“We have a 15-year heritage in this business which in some industries that is a short time, but in the game industry, it is a lifetime,” Trenton told G4 at GDC.
Accuracy
“PlayStation has come to stand for accuracy, cutting edge [...]
PlayStations recently announced Move motion controller may have wowed audiences at this year’s Games Developers’ Conference, but already there seems to be limits to the peripheral.
It seems that only two fully fledged Move setups (which is the motion controller and sub-controller) will be able to be connected to the PS3 at any one time.
This means that you will be able to have four controllers, without nunchuck, connected which will limit the moves of the controller somewhat.
Move any mountain
PlayStation Move is Sony’s big move into the family friendly gaming territory of the [...]
The motion controller formerly known as Sphere is now the PlayStation Move, and Sony has come out swinging (literally) with loads of new information about the device. It still looks like a Wiimote with a little ball on top (and there’s even a nunchuk-style attachment Sony’s calling the “sub controller”), though Sony’s works in tandem with its PlayStation Eye camera — which has been out for a while now. You can buy the controllers individually if you already own an Eye when the devices land this holiday season, or buy a controller, Eye and a motion-controlled [...]
