We just got some very, very sad news. Steve Jobs has passed away. As confirmed on Apple’s site, Mr. Jobs has died at the age of 56 after recently stepping down from the position of CEO and naming Tim Cook his successor. Steve has had a profound effect on the world of technology, both at Apple and through his many other endeavors. Our thoughts go out to his family. Firefox 4 Receives Over 6 Million Downloads in First 24 Hours

Mozilla has announced that within 24 hours of launch Firefox 4 downloaded more than 6 million times that breaks the recent record of IE9 with 2.35 million downloads in the first 24 hours of release. At the moment Microsoft Internet Explorer is at the top position in web browser list but Mozilla Firefox is also increasing its share rapidly, whereas Google Chrome growth is little slow.

Nokia appoints Microsoft executive as new CEO

Faltering Finnish giant places faith in Stephen Elop to turn fortunes around Nokia has announced that the head of Microsoft’s business division, Stephen Elop, is to become its new chief executive from 21 September. Microsoft Street Slide Brings New Street Level Imagery

Street Slide is the Microsoft’s new street mapping technology which provides multi-perspective panorama of street by changing the position of camera to zoom-in and zoom out, instead of limited view panorama which is normally used by current mapping technologies like Google Street View, Microsoft’s Bing Streetside or others.
