Microsoft Surface tablets

Surfaces. Turns out, the plural form of Microsoft’s new tablet range rolls off of the tongue with ease, but understanding the differences between the first two models may not be quite as easy — particularly for the everyman, or folks intimately familiar with Microsoft’s other Surface. Two editions — Surface for Windows RT and Surface for Windows 8 Pro — were unveiled today in Los Angeles, and while the exterior of each one looks nearly identical, the innards expose major differences in architecture. Let’s break it all down after the break, shall we? Surface [...]

Laptops Acer Aspire One D255

It was only a matter of time before Acer let out the pricing / availability details on its dual-core Atom netbook, and as we could have predicted, the Taiwanese company’s smacked an extremely enticing pricetag on this one. Ringing up at an aggressive $329.99, the 2.2-pound D255 looks almost identical to the D260 — yes, even those with the worst of cataracts could tell it’s an Aspire One from afar — but in terms of specs it’s got that notable difference of a brand new dual-core Atom N550 processor. But not to worry, even though it’s now the cheapest dual-core [...]

Has Play.com revealed the Apple iPad UK price?

Apple has decided to keep the UK pricing of the iPad under lock and key but that hasn’t stopped one third-party retailer from possibly blurting out a price for the company’s tablet computer. Play.com has been listed on Google Products as selling the Apple iPad for the UK price of £499 for the 16GB version and a whopping £699 for the bigger 64GB version. Dollars and sense There is no word whether this is official pricing, but even if it is the e-tailer’s guess-work (and let’s be fair it is only swapping the dollars sign for pounds) we trust its judgement more than most, [...]

On Friday, Amazon basically banned titles, both paper and digital, published by Macmillan by refusing to directly sell [...]
