HTC’s launched a new flagship handset for Mobile World Congress 2012, the HTC One X — codenamed Endeavour. Dipping into design notes from The Nokia Lumia line, the One X is a unibody device machined from white polycarbonate that uses Gorilla Glass to protect its 4.7-inch 1280×720 non-pentile Super LCD 2 display. Stunning outside appearances aside, HTC’s newest features an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor for the Global edition and a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core for the LTE iteration. Memory specs on the box show 1GB DDR2 and 32GB of built-in storage — 26GB of [...]
While Toshiba’s stateside reps had us convinced its 14-inch Ultrabook wouldn’t see the light of day until sometime in June, that message of withholding apparently didn’t make it Down Under. Outed by its Australian arm today, that would-be Portege is actually the company’s Satellite U840. We already knew the electronics giant had intended on shuffling this Windows 7 machine out under that brand umbrella back at CES, but now we have a $1,500 AUD (about $1,608 USD) price tag to go with a list of confirmed specs. Officially on deck for this aluminum-bodied laptop are an Intel [...]
The new LG Prada 3.0 (or PRADA phone by LG 3.0, if the fashion house has anything to do with it) is a ‘fashion phone’ that actually ticks more than a few tech boxes as well.
When most people hear about designer tie-ins with technology, they think of lame devices with a logo smeared all over it – but in this case, it’s actually a decent phone in its own right.
The Prada 3 has a large amount of synergy with the LG Optimus 3D, bringing the same OMAP 1GHz dual-core, dual-channel processor but ramping it up with 1GB of RAM, rather than the measly 512MB on offer previously.
We’re [...]
Color us skeptical on this one, but rumors are coming down the pipeline about an HTC phone called the Edge. It’s supposedly going to be the first Tegra 3-powered smartphone. According to Pocketnow, the device will supposedly offer a quad-core 1.5GHz CPU, 4.7-inch 720p HD display, 1GB of RAM, an 8MP rear camera with f/2.2 lens and Beats Audio. Curiously, no LTE capability was mentioned specifically, though 21Mbps HSPA+ appears to be good to go, and there’s a slight possibility of Sense 4.0 being included — which given its proposed launch window of late Q1 / early Q2 2012, wouldn’t [...]
Sure, they might look the same, but are they actually the same? Inside that smooth, shapely polycarbonate shell lies internals that are actually significantly different between these two. How different? Well, the guy on the left, the newly-unveiled Lumia 800, has a 1.4GHz Qualcomm processor paired with 512MB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The guy on the right? That’s the ill-fated N9, and it packs a 1GHz TI OMAP chip with 1GB of RAM and up to 64GB of storage. Inside the chart below lies the information you need, and the deltas you crave.

Sure, you remember. MS is selling it for $1,299 with a 128GB SSD. And the mystery of wondering when it’ll actually ship? That they’ll throw in for free.

If you were Panasonic and had already whittled a 12-inch laptop down to three pounds while keeping the optical drive in tact, what would your next move be? If you guessed make it manilla envelope-thin, you’d be wrong. The outfit just announced the Toughbook S10, and while it looks awfully similar to the three-pound S9 it’s replacing, it ushers in a series of welcome (and predictable) changes on the inside. This time around, it steps up to a Sandy Bridge Core i5-2520M processor, 4GB of RAM, USB 3.0, and a battery that promises up to 12.5 hours of juice — the longest in its class, [...]
