Download ICS customer guide for Samsung Galaxy S II

Now that Ice Cream Sandwich has (finally) begun rolling out for the Galaxy S II, Samsung has decided to put together a little guidebook to help its European customers get started. It’s actually more PowerPoint than book, but it’s just as informative as you’d expect, offering a full rundown of everything GT-I9100 users will need to know before making the jump. The folks over at Coolsmartphone were kind enough to put it all into a pocket-sized PDF, so check it out for yourself at the source link below.

How to submit apps to the Windows Store

Microsoft is serious about Windows 8, and if you’re serious about submitting Metro-style apps then there’s now a healthily long and detailed blog post (at the source link) explaining how. The post suggests that Redmond’s app police are looking at a roughly a six-day turnaround for signing off and publishing the average title, with content compliance taking the longest time because it involves “real people.” As the real person in the video after the break makes clear, your first goal should be to reserve your app’s name so no one else can take it. (You do have [...]

For more info and a complete list of improvements hit up the source link. Download from Microsoft

Download GTA III 1.3 for Android

Select iOS and Android devices have had the ability to terrorize Liberty City while on-the-go since December, but sadly those with Transformer Primes thus far have been left out of all that fun. Luckily, an update to the game ends that double standard, enabling Rockstar’s classic to run on ASUS’ tablet and Medion Lifetabs everywhere. It doesn’t just bring expanded hardware support to the table though, as amongst other “technical fixes,” the release also heralds new video display settings, Immersion haptics support and the capability of installing the game on a SD [...]

iBuypower Paladin HS11 for $999

Is it possible to build a fully-fledged and decently frigid gaming PC for $999 with a profit margin to spare? The Gamer Paladin HS11′s spec sheet suggests it is. In contrast to the fiery Chimera 4, you get a sensible trio of a Gigabyte Z68 mobo, Core i5-2500K CPU and NVIDIA GTX 570 1.2GB graphics card, plus 8GB of RAM and a 1TB hard drive. A smart NZXTSource 210 boxes it all up, an 800W PSU supplies the current, and a 120mm liquid CPU cooling system sucks out the heat. There’s no display for that money and don’t even think about an SSD, but the whole package is ultra-customizable [...]

Download Ubuntu 11.10 ‘Oneiric Ocelot’

In case you haven’t been keeping an eye on the countdown, we thought we’d remind you that Ubuntu 11.10 — otherwise known as Oneiric Ocelot — is now available to download (completely free of charge, of course). That brings with it an updated version of the Unity interface that includes features like a new alt + tab switcher and “Lenses” with some expanded functionality instead of the previous “Places” feature — not to mention full support for Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and other script languages. Did we mention it also now has its own soundtrack? [...]

RIM recovers, BlackBerry services coming back online

Well, that was quick. Mere hours after holding a press conference stating that it didn’t know when BlackBerry users would have their BBM, internet, and email working again, services have begun to come back online. Apparently email is up across the globe, as is BBM. Web browsing, however, continues to be “temporarily” unavailable to those on EMEIA networks in Europe, the Middle East, India, Africa and Latin America. There is of course a considerable backlog of messages to get through, but the good news is that all the BlackBerry bits and bytes are flowing freely once again. Hit [...]

Apple iPhone 4S Benchmarked, 800MHz A5 CPU Inside

Pre-orders for the iPhone 4S only began shipping this week, but a handful of early owners have already taken Apple’s first A5-based smartphone for a test run, and they’ve got the benchmarks to prove it. The results, obtained by AnandTech, are hardly what we’d call shocking. In terms of Javascript performance (pictured above), the 4S measures up rather nicely against the Tegra 2-based Honeycomb competition, while out-dueling the iPhone 4 in overall CPU muscle. Geekbench results, meanwhile, clock the 4S at around 800MHz, with a score of 623. That’s about 25 percent lower [...]

Watch Apple’s iPhone 4S Event Video Online

Looks like we weren’t the only ones shooting video at today’s ‘Let’s Talk iPhone’ event. Apparently Apple had some folks there with cameras as well. Cupertino has posted video of the event, so between that and our liveblog, you can relive the magic — or disappointment — again and again. Check out the action in the Source link below. Apple
