iBuypower Paladin HS11 for $999

Is it possible to build a fully-fledged and decently frigid gaming PC for $999 with a profit margin to spare? The Gamer Paladin HS11′s spec sheet suggests it is. In contrast to the fiery Chimera 4, you get a sensible trio of a Gigabyte Z68 mobo, Core i5-2500K CPU and NVIDIA GTX 570 1.2GB graphics card, plus 8GB of RAM and a 1TB hard drive. A smart NZXTSource 210 boxes it all up, an 800W PSU supplies the current, and a 120mm liquid CPU cooling system sucks out the heat. There’s no display for that money and don’t even think about an SSD, but the whole package is ultra-customizable [...]

ARM unveils Cortex-A7 processor

Fancy a glimpse of the future? That little psychedelic beauty on the right is ARM’s brand new Cortex-A7 processor. Its spec sheet might not seem so colorful at first glance, because it doesn’t really do things any faster than existing high-end smartphone processors. However, this UK-based manufacturer isn’t known for bumping its gums, so it pays to look a little deeper. For a start, the Cortex-A7 is built using a 28nm process that makes it five times smaller and more efficient than the current-gen Cortex-A8. It’s also cheap enough to power sub-$100 handsets, so we could [...]

Archos Arnova 8 and 10 tablets

We know, Archos already makes fairly cheap tablets, but believe it or not, the company’s going after an even cheaper segment with its new Arnova 8 and 10. The two have been popping up all around the web — they stopped by the FCC earlier this week and there was an early spec leak from a Russian site — but now we’re finally getting some real details and hands-on impressions courtesy of Charbax, who is quite possibly the biggest Archos fan in the world. The $199 10.1-inch Arnova 10, which we have to say looks a lot like the Archos 101, packs a 600MHz Rockchip RK2818 [...]

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 World’s fastest DX 11 GPU

It might not be November 9 all around the world yet, but NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 580 has already had its spec sheet dished out to the world, courtesy of CyberPower’s seemingly early announcement. CyberPower is strapping this beast into its finest rigs, and for additional overkill it’ll let you SLI up to three of them within one hot and steamy case. Now let’s just wait patiently for midnight to roll around [...]

HTC HD3 (HD7) with Dolby Sound (Video)

HTC may have stemmed the flood of HD7 activity, but details about the 4.3-inch Windows Phone 7 device keep leaking out. Today, an O2 Germany tipster blew off most of the remaining doors. We’ve got what appears to be a full spec sheet confirming a 1GHz processor, 8GB of storage and 5 megapixel camera but also detailing internal memory, a full compliment of sensors, quad-band radio frequencies, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and more. There’s also few pictures sizing up the HD7 alongside a Galaxy S, a training slide for the hopefully-more-than-a-marketing-buzzword “Dolby Mobile Sound,” [...]

Marvell’s new 1.5GHz triple-core application processor for smartphones

Marvell’s decided to whip out the “game changer” tag for its latest slice of silicon, but when you read the spec sheet that accompanies it, you might be willing to forgive it. Just this once. The new Armada 628 application processor delivers three cores, two of which crank along at 1.5GHz, and enough graphical prowess to churn 200 million triangles a second. You might remember we were once impressed by the Hummingbird’s 90 million — yeah, not so much anymore. The 628 is capable of 1080p 3D video and graphics (meaning it can sustain two simultaneous 1080p streams, [...]
