If you’re not after the very latest handset, remember you can also still buy the iPhone 4 8GB for £319 and iPhone 4S 16GB for £449 from Apple directly and from the networks on contract.
Apple’s without contract iPhone 5 price is £529 for 16GB, £599 for 32GB and £699 for 64GB. As you probably know by now, it’s [...]
Great news, folks! All variants of the Samsung Galaxy S II on US wireless carriers AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile are now root-able. We’ve already covered how to root the Epic 4G Touch, and today we’ll go through the method with which you can root T-Mobile’s Galaxy S II variant.
The root method comes from Rootzwiki – a popular forum for Android hacking/development – in a post from developer slayher where he goes through the different modalities of the whole procedure.
How To Root T-Mobile Galaxy S II On Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread

We’re still awaiting the release of the Samsung Galaxy S II on T-Mobile this week, and yet it’s already starting to look like yesterday’s half-eaten breakfast. That’s because some fuzzy details are now leaking out about its inevitable successor, the mystical Galaxy S III. The leaked presentation slide above, uncovered by Phandroid, shows a phone that’s packing a 1.8GHz dual-core Exynos 4212 CPU with 2GB of RAM and a 12 megapixel rear-facing camera. Oh, and a 4.6-inch Super AMOLED Plus HD display isn’t too shabby either. If this ends up being true, we’re [...]
The iPhone 4S pre-order madness has started, but the price drop for the iPhone 4, along with the incremental nature of its successors, upgrade could boost its popularity.
As we explain in the hands on: iPhone 4S review, the changes under the hood for the new handset include a better processor, Siri assistant and a better lens.
However, many of the coolest new features are brought by the iOS 5 update, which will be coming to the iPhone 4 on 12 October.
That makes the iPhone 4 (and, to an extent, the similarly iOS 5 equipped-iPhone 3GS) attractive propositions for the more [...]
Today is turning out to be a great day for the Android set, what with news of the Google / Moto deal and now — HTC’s unleashing its bootloader unlock tool for the masses. That’s right, the company’s Taiwanese team of engineers flipped the switch on the service that sees owners of a global SIM-unlocked Sensation working their way towards OEM-sanctioned root access. Unfortunately, stateside owners of the phone’s T-Mobile variant, as well as the EVO 3D, will have to sit back and wait while further testing is conducted on their devices. So, what are you ROM fiends waiting [...]
The LG Optimus Pad has been a long time coming.
After months of persistent rumours, LG finally announced its 3D tablet at MWC in February.
Rebadged as the T-Mobile G-Slate in the US, it was long rumoured that the Optimus Pad would pair 3D video capture with a glasses-free 3D display like the one on the Nintendo 3DS and LG’s own forthcoming Optimus 3D handset.
However, that turned out not to be the case. What we have here is a Tegra 2-powered Android 3.0 honeycomb tablet with dual 5MP rear-firing cameras for 3D video capture. The display is not 3D compatible in any way – it’s a standard [...]
Well, we’d seen plenty of pictures of T-Mobile’s new myTouch 4G Slide over the past couple of weeks, and now it’s official. T-Mo officially pulled the wraps off its newest handset, and it’s packing a 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor and a 3.7-inch WVGA Super LCD screen. As for software, the slick slider comes with some tasty Gingerbread slathered in Sense 3.0. There’s also an 8-megapixel shooter that does low-light photos with a wide-aperture lens capable of f2.2 — just like that new Nokia N9 that has us all hot and bothered. The camera also has [...]
Gingerbread may not be a very likely option, but T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide users can now get a dessert of another sort (albeit a slightly stale one), as the phone has finally received an update to Android 2.2 (a.k.a. Froyo). Unfortunately, there’s apparently no over-the-air update planned, and the software required for the installation is Windows-only, so anyone with a Mac looking to upgrade will have to find a PC-using friend willing to help them out. If you’re all set to go, however, you can download the update from HTC at the source link
AT&T and Deutsche Telekom AG has announced an agreement under which AT&T will acquire T-Mobile USA in return of a cash-and-stock transaction at approximately $39 billion.
Sprint was another buyer of T-Mobile but AT&T won the war and this will bring the combined user base to 130 million leaving AT&T to be the only national carrier GSM in the US.
It will take about 12 months to get things on track after AT&T and T-Mobile deal. To know further details you can read the full press release at the source.
Update: Tmonews has posted an internal email from T-Mobile CEO Philip Humm [...]
