Shortly after announcing their fourth quarter earnings, Google announced that their Co-Founder Larry Page is going to replace Eric Schmidt as CEO of the company. Schmidt is going to takeover as Chairman of Google.
Schmidt explained in a blog post:
For the last 10 years, we have all been equally involved in making decisions. This triumvirate approach has real benefits in terms of shared wisdom, and we will continue to discuss the big decisions among the three of us. But we have also agreed to clarify our individual roles so there’s clear responsibility and accountability at the top of [...]

The world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow, International CES 2011 will run January 6-9 with more than 120,000 expected attendees from more than 130 countries. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will kick off the 2011 International CES keynote address at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, in the Las Vegas Hilton Center.

IBM has officially announced 5.2GHz z196 processor for mainframe which would be the world’s fastest processor that begins shipping to customers on September 10, 2010.
According to IBM:
“The z196 processor is a four-core chip that contains 1.4 billion transistors on a 512-square millimeter (mm) surface. The chip was designed by IBM engineers in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and was manufactured using IBM’s 45 nanometer (nm) SOI processor technology in the company’s 300mm fab in East Fishkill, N.Y.

WSJ reported that Microsoft Corp. co-founder Paul Allen has filed law suit against 11 technology giant companies including Google, YouTube, Facebook, eBay, Apple, Yahoo, AOL, Netflix, Office Depot, OfficeMax, and Staples to protect the intellectual property of Allen’s former technology incubator company Interval Research Corporation.
You may notice that Microsoft and Amazon are not targeted by Allen’s law suit probably because of Allen’s deep tie with Microsoft on other hand Amazon’s HQ is located in buildings owned by Allen.

A new page-turning technology for lazy fans of traditional paper media? Toshiba is readying a glasses-free 3D TV, according to a Japanese newspaper.
Yomiuri insists that Toshiba is working on the technology and will produce a television that does not need the much-maligned glasses required by most 3D technology.
The company has refused to comment on the specific report, but has confirmed to PS that work is continuing on glasses-free 3D.
Other examples
Philips has shown off a glasses-free 3D TV using the lenticular technology, and Nintendo’s 3DS uses the same tech to bring 3D to the portable console.

According to Haaretz.com, HTC has employed the services of Israeli manufacturer N-trig for its tablet’s touchscreen tech—the very same technology that was used in Microsoft’s Surface* table, along with other products such as the Dell Latitude XT. This tablet is supposedly on track to launch on November 26th, and will be offered “in cooperation with the US telecommunications company Verizon.” [...]
