A Retina Display Matching WebOS Device Spoted

A few weeks ago, we told you about a foursquare application developer that discovered traces of webOS 2.0 in their application logs. While the information would have been very hard to fake, it would have been technically feasible due to the fact that foursquare’s API is open source. Today, PreCentral is reporting that a closed-source game titled Cloud Hopper has discovered traces of webOS 2.0 in their logs, along with a device that has a screen resolution of 640 x 960; the same resolution as the iPhone 4’s Retina display. HP Slate officially alive, ditching Windows 7 for Palm WebOS

It’s hard not to feel a little robbed by HP’s Slate. It was supposed to be the tablet computer to answer Apple’s tablet toy, but turns out toys are pretty popular. Directly related or not, HP floundered in the wake of the iPad, but it’s back with the Slate once more. Not all is as it was, however. HP is tapping freshly acquired Palm to provide a version of the company’s WebOS for use with the Slate, meaning no more Windows 7. Facebook finally comes to webOS, not with a bang but a whimper

Just in time for the Pixi’s grand debut, webOS devices (that’s just Pixi and Pre) now have their first official Facebook app, joining the ranks of iPhone and Android… and we’re sad to report that it’s about as barebones as they can get. It pulls from the raw live stream, seemingly unfiltered — even if you said “no” to Farmville updates on your main feed, they’ll show up here. Clicking a YouTube link brings you to the YouTube app, clicking links go to browser. You can update your status or upload a photo, but that’s about it. You can’t [...]
